Elizabeth Jaworski, Ph.D., possesses a rare aptitude

for incorporating strategic risk-taking, intuitive reasoning, and scientific data to establish new pathways for life science innovations. Her uncommon tenacity to achieve goals has given her the drive to reimagine solutions in Next-Generation Sequencing and be part of the new wave of innovators that see possibilities where others see the status quo.

Elizabeth is the CEO and Co-Owner of the groundbreaking company

ClickSeq Technologies - a sequencing service that provides a simple method for the synthesis of Next-Generation Sequencing libraries. The method provides researchers with a highly flexible and modular platform for NGS library synthesis that is both simple to use and cost-effective compared to traditional practices.

The formation of the company began when

Elizabeth joined a research lab while completing her Ph.D. program in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). While studying the evolution of viruses at the instruction of Dr. Andrew Routh, Elizabeth found herself learning the new technologies that the professor was developing to replace the inefficient tools used in RNA sequencing. Elizabeth recognized that the tools had the potential for commercial applications, and set out to ensure that the technology being developed could have a widespread appeal for labs across the country.

Despite having no knowledge or experience in product

commercialization,

Elizabeth took on the challenge of investigating the process and trusting her instincts to ensure a successful launch. She joined the Houston-based nonprofit Enventure, which helps medical innovators launch and grow their business concepts. Through the knowledge she gained in the program, Elizabeth was able to provide sufficient proof of concept and secure funding from UTMB for further product development of ClickSeq’s technologies. In less than two years the company has become fully operational and provides researchers with a more efficient and cost-effective method of generating Next-Generation Sequencing libraries.

Directly following the completion of her Ph.D. program, Elizabeth felt the need to create a new challenge

for herself to further lean into the rewards of discipline and determination. Her next great adventure was to master the mechanisms of flight by becoming a Licensed Private Pilot. The high stakes and extreme risks and rewards of flight are similar to the challenges that Elizabeth has faced in the lab and demonstrate her commitment to problem-solving and the mental resilience that has driven her life and career.

Today Elizabeth is a Biodesign Founder at TMC Innovation.

is a one-year program for entrepreneurs committed to creating cutting-edge solutions and products to advance the healthcare field. Elizabeth is fully immersed in the clinical experience and in a matter of months will possess the level of knowledge and experience that it takes years to obtain. The program takes place in the world's largest medical complex, making her progress and potential an even more exceptional experience.
